janja hill

€10

As a nano-roaster, we’re always really happy to support small producers, as well as the importers who champion them. Semilla are the ones doing this quiet and often under celebrated work, connecting small-scale producers to roasters. The hard-work of the producing community living on Janja Hill in Gakenke, Rwanda, is clear in the cup of this wonderful coffee.

With a profile that’s more reminiscent of a coffee from Yirgacheffe, it’s full of apricot and orange, with a hint of figgy goodness. A great coffee to be enjoyed everyday, and one that marks the beginning of a beautiful relationship with our new friends at Semilla.

Region/country: gakenke / rwanda

Process: washed

Altitude: 1400-1500m

Variety: red bourbon

Notes: apricot, fig, orange
